Hyundai Santa Fe Inspiration special edition launched in South Korea

The 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe reached showrooms in South Korea just back in February. Today, its first special edition model called Hyundai Santa Fe Inspiration was launched in the country, with prices starting at KR? 35,80,0000 (INR 22,45,368.84).

The Hyundai Santa Fe has a slew of exclusive styling elements designed to make it look both sportier and more luxurious.

The Hyundai Santa Fe Inspiration is targeted at customers looking for a configuration offering both sportiness and luxury. It is differentiated from the regular model with a number of styling changes. At the front, the special edition model features an exclusive chrome-plated radiator grille, a differently designed bumper and skid plate, and LED fog lights.

On the sides, the special edition Santa Fe features unique 19-inch wheels, body-coloured cladding, and silver metallic ORVM housing. The wheels are wrapped in Continental CrossContact 235/55 R19 tyres. At the rear, a distinctive skid plate and dual exhaust tailpipes are the special edition model’s highlights. Inside, the quilted nappa leather seats come in a burgundy shade for an upmarket appeal. Hyundai has improved the cabin quietness by using a soundproof glass for the front-door windows.

Burgundy upholstery makes the Hyundai Santa Fe’s cabin look more upmarket.

The Hyundai Santa Fe Inspiration is available with three turbo engines: 2.0-litre T-GDi petrol, 2.0-litre e-VGT diesel and 2.2-litre e-VGT diesel. The 2.0-litre petrol engine produces 235 PS and 36.0 kg.m (353.04 Nm) of torque. The 2.0-litre diesel engine develops 186 PS and 41.0 kg.m (402.07 Nm) of torque. You Can Buy a Santa Fe Estate for $10 Million Less Than It’s Worth

Robert Knutson, a founder and the retired chairman and chief executive officer of the Education Management Corp., took his company public in 1996. A decade later, it was acquired for $3.4 billion by a consortium of private equity firms led by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. In 2009, the company went public again, this time with a valuation of about $2 billion. (It’s since been reacquired. A 2010 Bloomberg article reported that Knutson had made $132.4 million in stock sales from his company.)

In the meantime, Knutson was busy buying houses with his wife Miryam.

The property stretches across 11 secluded acres, but it’s minutes from downtown Santa Fe.

“Over the years, we [acquired] a lot of residential properties,” he says. “One in western Pennsylvania, one in Durango, Colo., and one in Boca Grande, Fla.”

In 2004, they added to their portfolio a dilapidated historic mansion set on 11.3 acres, a four-minute drive from downtown Santa Fe, N.M., which they say they purchased for about $3.5 million.

Restoring the House
The property contains a main house and three guest houses.

“It was built in the 1930s for John Dempsey, who later became the governor of New Mexico,” says Miryam Knutson.

Dempsey sold it to an heir of the Weyerhaeuser timber fortune. The house then passed through two owners until it was purchased by yet another heiress, a member of the family that had founded the Italian beverage company Martini & Rossi. She, Knutson says, was lax at maintaining the home.

When the Knutsons visited, Miryam thought it would take years to restore. “But my husband said ‘Oh no, it will just take a year.’”

The interior was gut renovated and then restored.

Ultimately, it took four years—and, the couple says, an additional $18 million. “We got the best architect who specialized in Pueblo Revival houses and then got curators to work with us to restore the house to perfection,” Miryam continues. “There are 64 kinds of windows in the house, and every single one is different and had to be special-ordered.”

They redid the roof, walls, plumbing, electricity, and security system, plus heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. They also restored the interior wood ceilings and finishes, rebuilt the fireplaces, and then set to making exterior improvements. “We built magnificent stone walls across the property,” she says. “And we hired somebody to trim every tree on the property for three years.”

The property is covered in manicured gardens.

During that time, the couple moved in to enjoy the house, holding giant parties and fundraisers for the community, where she serves on the board of the Santa Fe opera.

Recently, however, Robert has suffered from health issues, and the couple relocated to Los Angeles. They’ve decided to sell all their other houses, and have listed the Santa Fe residence for $11.5 million with Barker Realty, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate.

Given that they put in $18 million, and the house cost a further $3.5 million, the asking price means that the Knutsons plan to take a $10 million loss. “All told, inside and outside, we did more than we should,” Robert says. “But we weren’t planning on selling it, ever.”

The Property

In total, the residence has 12,208 square feet of interior space. The main house has six bedrooms, including two master suites, and each of the three guest houses has bedrooms, bathrooms, and a kitchen.

The couple added a tennis court to the property, as well as a large swimming pool. Numerous covered and uncovered terraces and balconies overlook manicured grounds. “I’m a big gardener, and we have the most glorious gardens you’ll see in Santa Fe,” Miryam says.

The property also features a pool and a tennis court.

To irrigate the land, they buried three 50,000-gallon catchment tanks, including one under their orchard. “We didn’t want to be in the paper as big users of city water,” Robert explains.

He says that when they were installing one of the tanks, they found a rock with a shell embedded in it, a relic from millions of years ago, when what is now Santa Fe lay under the ocean.

The main house has two kitchens, and each guest house has one.

While the house is filled with museum-quality furnishings, the Knutsons are downsizing from four houses to one, so they plan to sell some furniture. “My husband is an extraordinary collector of rugs,” she says. “So what we’re doing is trying to pick our most-favored pieces to put in our new house, which is about 15,000 square feet,” she continues. “But we are going to have to sell some furniture, and it’s killing us.”

“We’re selling four magnificent properties we adore,” she says. “But we hope to create another one.”

Pristine stone walls mark the property.
The house is being sold at what its owners say will amount to a $10 million loss.

This Is the Hottest Real Estate Listing in Every State. Nearly All Have One Thing in Common

New York’s most-desired house isn’t located on Manhattan’s tony Upper East Side or the Hamptons. It also doesn’t come with doorman service, underground parking or access to a 24-hour gym. And with nearly identical neighbors on either side, it’s not architecture that sets it apart. It’s the price tag.

Curious to know what buyers really want in a home, MONEY asked real estate listings website Trulia to compile a list of the houses in each U.S. state that potential buyers most often bookmarked for future reference. Despite different locales, styles and amenities, the vast majority of the homes most desired by Trulia’s millions of users have a single thing in common: affordability.

That is certainly the case for the two-story, turn-of-the-century house on a side street in Jamaica, Queens — the perennially overlooked New York City borough where President Donald Trump grew up — although not where he chose to live his life as a real estate tycoon and reality TV star.

Listed for just over $200,000, the house is a bargain in a competitive neighborhood where listing prices average $480,000. But it’s not just a deal by New York City standards. The median U.S. home listing price is $261,500, according to Zillow.

And that’s far from the only one. A pueblo-esque Santa Fe-style condo in New Mexico? Under $261,500. An A-Frame lake house in the woods of North Carolina? A whopping $161,600 below the median U.S. listing price. A combination estate/private nightclub perched above Los Angeles and designed by Lenny Kravitz? Well, okay, maybe not that one.

But, of the homes on Trulia’s list, 44 of 50 are below the median U.S. listing price, while all but four fall below their respective state’s median home listing.

At a time when quality starter homes are hard to find, it makes sense that buyers have their eyes peeled for deals. Excluding California’s multimillion-dollar outlier, the average house on Trulia’s list (compiled as of March 1) is a 1,670-square-foot three bedroom, two bathroom house listed for $169,713.

Santa Fe real estate agent sought after woman attacked

Shawn Max McCourt

Police are a seeking Santa Fe real estate agent after a woman who said she lives and works with him was found outside Geronimo Restaurant early Monday morning, wearing only underwear and covered in scratches and bruises, according to an arrest warrant.

Shawn Max McCourt, 50, faces felony charges of kidnapping and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, as well as a misdemeanor charge of aggravated battery against a household member.

A Geronimo employee called 911 after 2 a.m. Monday, saying a woman “had arrived naked, stating her boyfriend had beat her,” an officer wrote in an arrest warrant affidavit. The woman had “visible cuts on her feet, hands, and on her right arm,” the warrant says.

The woman told police that she lived with McCourt at a home on Otero Street, where they run a real estate business together.

McCourt was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence last month in Colorado.

In late October, McCourt led police in Durango on an 18-mile car chase that ended when Colorado State Police put down spike strips. He was held in the La Plata County jail on charges of evading police and assault involving domestic violence, The Durango Herald reported.

Colorado court records show McCourt faces a hearing in December in that case.

Santa Fe police confirmed Tuesday that the woman in the Colorado case has filed a restraining order against him in that state, according to the affidavit.

It was unclear if the victim in the Santa Fe case was the same woman.

McCourt had become upset with her when she came home from a night of drinking with other acquaintances, the Santa Fe woman told police. He began calling her derogatory names, according to the affidavit, and blocked the doorway. The woman said she tried to escape over a fence in the backyard, wearing only her underwear.

While she was climbing the fence, she said, McCourt grabbed her foot, pulled her down and dragged her back into the residence by the hair. He forced her on the bed, where he elbowed her in the ribs, the woman said.

When McCourt went to let his two dogs inside the home, the woman made a successful escape, according to court records. When she returned to the residence with police, her rental car was missing — and so was McCourt.
